these areas of Peru with our radio programme. In most cities people listen to the UKW-stations. In the sparsely-populated regions Peruvians are dependent on medium-wave frequencies.
In Apurimac Radio Diospi Suyana should cover the cities of Abancay, Andahuaylas and Curahuasi. Longer term we hope to cover both Cusco Departamento and the city itself. The city of Puno, the capital of the State by the same name is another densely populated region. Almost all the inhabitants of Madre de Dios State live in the capital Puerto Maldonado.
10% of all Peruvians live in this area of 245,000km² – it is roughly two-thirds of the size of Germany. It would be a dream come true, if we could cover this whole area with UKW- and medium-wave frequencies in the next few years.
