Straight back into the Stone Age

Diospi Suyana lives in close touch with earth and nature

Dear Friends of Diospi Suyana, part of my team is now taking care of the foundation works for the aerial tower.  Even though it has rained almost every night, sun and wind during the day have ensured that the “access roads” were dry enough so that we could reach the building site.

Excavation work done manually is a real challenge, especially since the earth is full of rubble.  We were finally able to get out one of these boulders, which weighed between 300 and 400kg, using the unimog and hoisting gear.  The foundations for the perimeter wall are currently being reinforced and encased and will hopefully be poured into place soon, so that we can start with the wall itself.

On our building site “The Hospital’s New Storey” we screed one room per day and the door frames are being welded, erected and fixed in the mortar.

In the first patient’s bathroom we have started tiling the wall.

Best regards from Curahuasi, Udo
