Casting Nets and their programme S4G

Ben Crane and his band Casting Nets support Diospi Suyana

For eighteen months now Ben Crane has been translating our website’s daily news into English. He does not only have linguistic skills, but is also a gifted musician. As his heart also beats for Diospi Suyana he organised a fundraising concert with his band Casting Nets in the Schönblick.

The Englishman could compose songs about everything and nothing: e.g. about love, nature or about Great Britain’s beauty. But he prefers to point to God in his compositions. Thereby a musical evening turns into a meditative journey towards life’s essential core, its origin and meaning.

In his book „Expedition to the Origin“ Physician Albrecht Kellner describes his long journey to God. In the midst of the Flower-Power-Movement the graduate physician flew with a scholarship of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) to the University of California in San Diego. He strove to discover as much about the purpose of the universe as he could being driven by scientific curiosity. A question which touches everyone’s life at least once in a unique way. A Kellner writes: “…the effects of this search stretch from the continual collection of material riches, aspiring to personal prestige or the intensive engagement with art, philosophy or religion on the one hand, via Christoph Columbus, Roald Amundsen or Reinhold Messner’s laborious expeditions to the expensive attempts at space travel and trying to find our material origins out there on the other hand. If one pursues all these attempts to their original catalyst then one finds time and time again that one single inner yearning lies at the heart of these exceptional discovery expeditions: the search for the meaning of and reason for our existence.”
